If you're looking for a smartphone that's basically in between the Apple iPhone and the Blackberry then you might want to consider the Palm Pre. The Palm Pre is smaller in physical size than the iPhone and has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.
Unlike the iPhone it does not have touch screen typing. Also, the Palm Pre's keypad is slightly better for people with smaller fingers. Running on the Linux operating system the Palm Pre is excellent for multi-tasking as you can have several applications open at the same time.
For web browsing the pages render quite quickly and the interface is quite similar to that of the iPhone. One great advantage of the Palm Pre is that it allows you to synchronize all of your email contact lists and calendars as well.
The Palm Pre comes with a terrific 3MP camera which allows you to take really crisp pictures which you can upload directly to the Internet. While it does not have video capabilities the company has not ruled this out for future versions.
